We’d like to wish all the mothers in the family a Happy Mother’s Day. Rachel and I feel very lucky to have the most wonderful mothers on the planet. Rachel found a mother’s nest in one of our hanging ferns this week, photo attached. We are battling all types of nature disrupting our landscaping. We’re still getting regular nocturnal visits from an unknown creature that enjoys digging small divots throughout the backyard. It is either a bird, chipmunk, squirrel, possum, vole or some other varmint. I laid some rat traps with peanut butter but no luck. Through a recommendation from the owner of a local plant nursery, we purchased a motorized solar powered owl that moves and makes noise to frighten away critters. It was inexpensive, so if it doesn’t work we’ll have an amusing new robotic friend in the backyard. Rachel and I went to Home Depot and Secret Garden today and bought a few new plants and flowers. On Friday, Jason & Judy came over after work. I took Rachel on a lunch date to 12 South Taproom on Saturday. We shared a delicious Cuban sandwich, our favorite dish there. It was a pleasant and peaceful weekend. Hope you all had a great one, too!
