Birthday Girl!

Rachel’s birthday was Wednesday.  We had dinner at Margot, one of her favorite upscale restaurants in East Nashville.  The food and service are always outstanding and they did not disappoint.  Rachel returned to the Five Points area a few days later with Judy and her sisters for a girls night out at Rumours East, her favorite wine bar.   They whole gang came over to our house after work on Friday for TGIF BBQ.  I grilled steak, shrimp, turkey kielbasa, and carne asada, which was the hit of the night and prepared by Judy.  Carson came over on Saturday.  We went to Two Rivers Park and tossed around the football and baseball, and then played a little frisbee golf.  It was a gorgeous sunny day.  We came home to watch California Chrome blow away the field at the Kentucky Derby, looking good enough to take the Triple Crown.  After the Derby, I took Carson to JB’s Pour House for dinner while Rachel was at Rumours with Judy.  We had steak and buffalo wings while watching the Cincinnati Reds beat the Milwaukee Brewers.  Carson turned in his application to University of Tennessee a few weeks ago and is waiting to see if he’ll be accepted in the fall.  Rachel purchased some tomato plants and okra plants to build a vegetable garden in one of our flowerbeds this morning.
